Not only Northern Steeplejacks Ltd, but the Steeplejack and Working at Height industry as a whole.
Both Murray and Hamish will achieve their NVQ Certification in Steeplejack operations and Rigging through a combination of site training, and residential college attendance. In addition to obtaining their NVQs, they have already been enrolled in our ongoing CPD programme, with the first training being obtained that of IRATA Level I Rope access Technician.
The Directors of Northern Steeplejacks Wish Murray and Hamish well in their new roles at Northern Steeplejacks, and look forward to seeing them progress through their training and Futures in the industry.

New additions to the fleet

Northern steeplejacks, increase our fleet, with three Mitsubishi L200 vehicles, which will allow our Area engineers unlimited access to all sites throughout the UK, these vehicles can be seen heading your way and are based both at our Head office and Manchester office.
The new vehicles have already proven during recent engineering projects that Northern Steeplejacks are able to carry out works in the most remote parts of the country, by utilising these vehicles to the full capability, where traditional vans cannot easily access.
Supporting Prostate Scotland - Charity Golf Match

Retired taxi driver, John Igoe, who's son Christopher works for Northern Steeplejacks, has been battling prostate cancer has spoken of his pride in his son, who has organised a fundraising golf tournament to fight cancer. John was diagnosed with the illness around a year and half ago. Speaking about his son’s fundraising efforts to Midlothian Advertiser, John said: “It’s absolutely brilliant. I felt great for the laddie doing that. He is doing all the running about. He is taking care of it all. We have got 88 players on a shotgun start. So we have a full card with another eight players wanting to come in. So it will be a great day. I’m really looking forward to it. His son in Newtongrange, has arranged a charity golf day at King’s Acre Golf Course, Lasswade, on June 4, in aid of Prostate Scotland. Northern Steeplejacks are investing in the future of the industry by enrolling 3 new apprentices to sit their NVQ Level II at Bircham Newton College, 2 lightning protection system fitters and one steeplejack.
High level repairs after storm damage
25th February 2016
Northern Steeplejacks were engaged by a church in North England to carry out a high level inspection of the pinnacles after the recent storms and found 2 of them to be unstable and ready to collapse. We were instructed by the client to erect emergency scaffolding and to carry out full repairs and have entered into a yearly inspection schedule to stop this happening again.
